Introduction:
The dynamic world of construction industry is crucial to the urban development process. This sector, however, ts to be overlooked when it comes to health issues, especially sexual diseases like sexually transmitted infections STIs including HIVDS. Diving into a comprehensive analysis of the STI and HIV prevalence among construction workers in Xuhui District, Shangh, reveals critical insights for public health planning.

Our study adopted a systematic approach by employing cluster random sampling to investigate six construction sites in Xuhui District. A total of 620 building workers were surveyed using a meticulously designed questionnre that encapsulated their knowledge about STIs and HIVDS, attitudes towards these issues, awareness of condom usage strategies, and practices.
Results:
The findings from our survey indicated varying levels of knowledge regarding STIs and HIVDS among construction workers in Xuhui District. A significant number of respondents were aware of the transmission routes and prevention measures for these diseases. However, concerns emerged about specific misconceptions such as the belief that condom use doesn't effectively prevent infection.
In terms of attitudes towards STI and HIVDS testing, there was a notable degree of hesitance among workers due to stigma, lack of awareness on its avlability in their workplace or immediate community, and fear of discrimination. These barriers indicate an urgent need for comprehensive health education programs within the construction sector.
Condom usage:
The survey revealed that while many participants recognized the importance of condom use as a preventive measure agnst STIs including HIVDS, actual practice rates were lower than expected. This disparity could be attributed to several factors such as a lack of access to condoms, concerns about their efficacy, and potentially inadequate knowledge on safe sex practices.
Insights for Improvement:
To address these concerns and enhance the health status within the construction industry in Xuhui District, we propose the following strategies:
Implementing regular health education programs that focus on sexual health, HIVDS prevention, and condom usage.
Providing convenient access to condoms either through onsite clinics or by partnering with local pharmacies or healthcare providers.
Encouraging anonymous and confidential STI testing campgns within construction sites to reduce stigma.

By focusing on these areas, public health initiatives can significantly contribute to reducing the prevalence of sexually transmitted infections, including HIVDS, within this dynamic industry.
