ASHwell is committed to providing inclusive, sexual health and wellness services that prioritize the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of individuals in our community. We envision a society where everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, feels empowered to manage their sexual health without shame, stigma, or judgment.

Our focus is on the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities, ming to empower people through holistic services that challenge societal norms while fostering dignity, respect, and liberation.

Diversity, Equity Inclusion

ASHwell stands passionately for diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are dedicated to creating a safe space free from discrimination where all individuals can receive care without bias. Since our inception in 1983 with the first HIV case diagnosed in Austin, we've evolved to address unmet needs among populations at high risk of sexually transmitted diseases STDs, including low-income individuals and those engaging in drug use.

Evolution and Impact

ASHwell's roots trace back to a collaboration between individuals living with DS and holistic health practitioners in 1988. The initial mission was to support those dealing with HIVDS and Hepatitis C through alternative therapies, reflecting the evolving healthcare landscape that shifted focus from prolonging life to enhancing quality of life management.

Over time, we've adapted our services in response to community needs, expanding beyond our original patient base. Our programs now encompass medical care, integrative holistic treatments, social wellness initiatives, and patient advocacy. We're proud to promote sex-positive attitudes and celebrate diversity without judgment or stigma. By integrating complementary health therapies known for their effectiveness agnst chronic conditions like pn and illness, we uphold our commitment to providing comprehensive support that complements traditional medicine.

Current Efforts

In pursuit of health equity and accessible care, ASHwell continues to innovate its services to serve marginalized communities such as queer and transger individuals, people of color, drug users, and those historically underserved by the healthcare system. Amidst challenges like attacks on PrEP accessibility and ger-affirming care, we've reaffirmed our commitment to supporting our patient-clients with expanded access to services and improved public health outcomes.
