Subject: Exciting Announcement: Formation of the Sexually Transmitted Infections Impact Research Consortium STIIRC
Dear Colleagues,
We are thrilled to announce that CDC has successfully funded three esteemed organizations to form the Sexually Transmitted Infections Impact Research Consortium STIIRC. This dynamic group will conduct research studies med at reversing worrying trs in reported sexually transmitted infections STIs, and furthering public health programs' impact.
The STIIRC consortium, made possible by an investment from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, comprises:
University of Alabama Birmingham,
University of Washington,
Vysnova Partners
These renowned institutions will collaborate on clinical trials and implementation science research to enhance population-focused impacts and health equity for all.
The projects under this consortium span several key areas:
Service Delivery Research: Exploring preventive content
Service Delivery Research: Investigating prevention methods
Field-based Prevention Research: Implementing strategies in real-world settings
Development, testing, and implementation of STI diagnostic tools to increase testing rates
As we continue our commitment to the Sexually Transmitted Infections National Strategic Plan, CDC's Division of STD Prevention DSTDP is excited about this unprecedented opportunity to drive research that will improve population-level impacts of STI prevention and control.
