Department of Dermatology
The Department of Dermatology, with its long-standing history and unique specialty characteristics, advanced medical technology and comprehensive treatment methods, represents an integrated specialty that combines clinical practice, education, research in skin diseases and venereal diseases. It was established under the guidance of Professor You Pengxi Grade 1 Class 2 health technology, a renowned dermatologist in China during the early years of new China. Under the leadership of Professors Zhu Guangdou and Shi Weimin, this discipline rapidly developed its specialty.
This Department has cultivated distinctive features in diagnosing and treating various skin diseases through the fusion of traditional Chinese medicine with Western medical practices, particularly excelling in leucoderma treatment. In 2011, our total patient intake in both Southern and Northern Branches reached approximately 140,000 cases dealing with skin diseases.
Our commitment exts beyond medical services as we also engage in various voluntary diagnostic activities and patient education programs. Our contributions are recognized in publications of over 40 academic papers, including seven SCI indexed articles totaling an impact factor of 17, alongside our involvement in the compilation of five monographs and receipt of numerous awards from Shangh Science Technology Committee and Shangh Municipal Health Bureau.
Currently, we have a team comprising twelve doctors and one technician, with one chief physicianprofessor, eight associate chief physicians, one postdoc researcher, two doctoral candidates and five master's students. We provide educational opportunities for 14 postgraduates as well as two international students.
