Abstract
The study med to quantify the magnitude and temporal trs of immunodeficiency virus HIV prevalence among men who have sex with men MSM in different geographical regions of China through a systematic review and meta-analysis. A total of 94 articles were identified from both English and Chinese sources for this comprehensive analysis.
Upon examining the collected data, we observed an increase in HIV prevalence across all regions surveyed in China, rising from 1.4 95 confidence interval: 0.8-2.4 in 2001 to 5.3 95 CI: 4.8-5.8 by 2009. In particular, the HIV prevalence among MSM was notably higher in the southwestern part of China at an estimated 11.4 95 CI: 9.6-13.5, compared to other regions which varied from 3.5 to 4.8.
Consequently, our findings underscore a consistent and significant rise in HIV prevalence among MSM throughout the nation, with the southwestern region leading this tr. It is imperative that public health interventions be swiftly implemented to curb the spread of HIV infection among MSM across China.
