Virginia Mason Franciscan Health proudly announces that both Virginia Mason Medical Center VMMC and St. Joseph Medical Center have been distinguished as top hospitals in the annual publication of Best Hospitals by U.S. News World Report for 2024-2025.

Virginia Mason Medical Center, ranked second overall among Washington state's Seattle-Metro area hospitals, excelled with notable rankings across adult specialties including gastroenterology and GI surgery, geriatrics, pulmonology and lung surgery, urology, as well as high performance in treating 18 additional conditions and procedures.

St. Joseph Medical Center, positioned as the eighth best hospital statewide, tied for sixth place within Seattle’s metro area. It showcased exceptional capabilities in abdominal aortic aneurysm repr, hip replacement surgeries, cancer care such as colon and lung cancer surgery, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, cardiology treatments including heart attack management, heart bypass procedures, heart flure therapy, and stroke intervention.

This year's refinement includes incorporating new data on care delivered to patients with Medicare Advantage insurance as well as outpatient care, significantly expanding the pool of patients analyzed.
